The Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change, will organise a comprehensive Climate Media Programme in İstanbul and Kocaeli on 27–29 March 2026.
Bringing together 17 foreign press members from 8 countries, the “Road to COP31: Sustainable Future International Media Program” seeks to raise international media awareness ahead of COP31, which Türkiye is set to host in November.
Within this framework, Türkiye’s environmental and climate policies, its vision for sustainable development, and the domestically developed technologies in this field will be presented to members of the international press. Türkiye’s efforts to combat climate change, its innovative practices in environmental management, and its scientific research infrastructure will be introduced to a global audience.
As part of the media tour, participants will visit the TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Centre, where they will receive on-site briefings on wastewater monitoring systems, air quality measurement technologies, and environmentally friendly production processes. They will also attend an environment and climate-themed panel at the STRATCOM Summit, organised by the Directorate of Communications.
In Kocaeli, seabed sludge removal works in the Gulf of Izmit and marine litter collection activities will be examined, while projects aimed at protecting Türkiye’s marine ecosystem will be observed on site.
The media tours are set to continue until November, comprising a total of five programs.
