The Directorate of Communications will hold the “Japan See Again, 70 Years Later” Photography Exhibition in Tokyo on 14–15 September 2026.
The programme will bring together representatives from the fields of diplomacy, culture and the arts, academia and the media, as well as invited guests. Through the universal language of photography, the programme aims to contribute to the shared memory of the two countries and highlight the reflections of Türkiye-Japan friendship in the fields of culture and the arts.
As part of the event, an exhibition featuring photographs taken in Japan in 1956 and 1957 by renowned photographer İzzet Keribar will open to visitors. Offering a glimpse into Japan nearly 70 years ago, the selection will bring Keribar’s personal testimony and the visual memory of the period to contemporary audiences.
Opening on 14 September, the exhibition will continue to welcome visitors on 15 September. As part of Türkiye’s cultural and public diplomacy efforts, the exhibition aims to provide a meaningful platform for cultural engagement with the Japanese public.
