Messages of condolence for Father Emir of State of Qatar, Al Thani

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran shared messages of condolence on their NSosyal accounts following the passing of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Emir of the State of Qatar.

In his message, President Erdoğan stated:

"It is with profound sorrow that I learned of the passing of my dear friend, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Emir of the State of Qatar.

I pray that Almighty Allah grants His mercy to Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, with whom I had the privilege of working closely on the international stage during my tenure as Prime Minister. He made invaluable contributions to advancing the political, economic, military, humanitarian, and cultural ties between Türkiye and the State of Qatar to their present level, and I personally witnessed his sincere efforts for the peace of the Islamic world, the stability of our region, and the prosperity of the Qatari people.

On behalf of myself, my family, and my nation, I express my condolences to the family of the late Father Emir, especially to my valued brother, Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, as well as to the friendly and brotherly people of Qatar and the Islamic world."

Presidency's Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran also shared a condolence message, and noted the following:

"I was deeply saddened to hear that Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Emir of the State of Qatar, had passed away.

The late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani was a prominent statesman who significantly influenced Qatar's development, enhanced regional stability, and fostered the enduring friendship and fraternity between Türkiye and Qatar.

I pray that Almighty Allah grants his mercy to the deceased, and I extend my deepest condolences to his family, particularly to the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and to the friendly and brotherly people of Qatar.

May he rest in peace."
