Hatay’s EU-registered künefe introduced to local and international journalists

As part of “Türkiye's Gastrodiplomacy Model: The Heritage Table”, organised by the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, local and international journalists hosted in Hatay were introduced to Antakya künefe, which holds a geographical indication registration from the European Union (EU).

On the second day of the programme organised by our Directorate, local and international journalists were taken on a tour of the city's historical sites.

Within this scope, journalists first visited the Necmi Asfuroğlu Archaeology Museum, which houses a single-piece floor mosaic covering 1,050 square metres, accompanied by a guide.

The journalists then visited the St Pierre Church, regarded as a pilgrimage site by Christians and known as a cave church.

Finally, the journalists toured the Culture and Arts Bazaar, where they sampled local cuisine and observed the preparation process of EU-registered Antakya künefe.
